A short trailer for the title has been released. The first game of the game, Yomawari: Night Alone, was released in 2015 in Japan for PlayStation Vita and PC. In 2017, a sequel, Yomawari: Midnight Shadows, was released. Both received English release and later was bundled as Yomawari: The Long Night Collection for the Nintendo Switch in 2018. In these games, the players use a flashlight to explore the objects. In the first game, a young girl finds the missing dog and her sister. Though he is exploring the world, a heartbeat system is used to tell players if a monster is near, but that can also help the protagonist get slower. The players must hide or watch the monster movements in order to avoid detection. Yomawari 3 will be directed by Munenori Hirose who directed the detective thriller Tantei Bokumetsu. Yu Mizokami, the creator of Yomawari’s original series, is providing the characters. Yomawari 3 is currently on the development team and is set to release in Japan for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 21, 2022. An announcement regarding a release from the international airport hasn’t been made.
