This platform for sharing content is now being described as a TikTok platform for gaming. This program offers users the space they can share short-form video content and interact with other users doing the same thing. As a concept, its similar to TikTok itself, but with a particular goal being to target the gaming and streaming services. Hover became especially popular in a few weeks, despite being supported only by eight people. We sat down with Jake Aronow, co-founder of Hover.gg. We asked some important questions.
Is it possible Hover the Future of Content Sharing?
A photo from the Hover.gg. Esports.net: How do you move? How do you, founders, get started on that project? I’ve been playing Fortnite a night and I thought we should have a platform to showcase all these digital moments. We started researching and found all the people and people on Twitch streaming to a small audience, so we quickly realized that there wasn’t any way in which these creators could get discovered. In the short time we worked on a part-time task but then that pandemic hit. Whether we were ever going to go around the table, we thought it would be time. Esports.net: Given that your model is intended to attract attention to smaller streams, how do you plan to disrupt the monopoly held by the top streamers in the industry? Hover: The average stream is 4 times six hours, yet we live in a world where most people make decisions in three seconds. Let streamers take six hours to perform their activities into six-second clips. On Hover, we use your content to lure your viewers with the right attention when they turn on your stream. For the first time, content will help consumers discover new creators rather than scrolling on the streaming platform and entering a random stream without context. Esports.net: What’s the future vision of digital development when they essentially transcend the small streamer niche or do it more? Hover: Hover is a platform for everyone, regardless of its size. We see people in all shapes and sizes coming up, whether it be a new streamer, a newly aspiring partner or a Twitch Partner. Every creator wants to continue to build their brand and grow. Some curious viewers want to try and find new creators. I really like our product when we grow. It’s difficult to find the best content creators.
Can Hover Truly Disrupt a Platform like TikTok?
Esports.net: The Hover platform has been compared with TikTok in some ways? Hover: In the moment, was focused on basics and things that we can control. We don’t think that TikTok is a competitor, as we are now seeing that the type of content that is being consumed on Hover is very different to the type of content that often works on TikTok. In a perfect world, we’ll become the fastest playing place for three billion people around the world. Will Hovers grow similar to TikToks? – (Image Credit: MediaKix) How can you find the world of cryptocurrency soon? Hover: We were keeping a close eye on how cryptocurrency, web3 and play-to-earn will impact the gaming industry as a whole. There were certainly some ideas discussed, but there were so much focus on the immediate objective at hand, that if we did something, it would be far from the start. Esports.net: To conclude, what are your thoughts on the current situation of the streaming industry? Hover: It is amazing to see where streaming is going. I think there is a new TV that will be growing in popularity and increase a lot of people. Only a bit of time if more people are addicted to interactive, live-streaming entertainment. At Hover, the long-term theme of that was to stay, focused on finding the next big streams. There are so many talented creators out there that don’t have any way to grow, and they subsequently burn out. While we help these creators grow, we know that some will eventually lose the industry.
Are you willing to try their best?
With gamification, leaderboards and direct Twitch integration, Hover is definitely a much needed platform for small streams. At that moment, Hovers build is only months old, and the alpha had been released almost two years ago. Hover is becoming popular after successful social media promotion. There are partnerships with the likes of Steel, Pipeline, and Dixper, which help streamers to survive. The platform promotes new technologies and technology, and takes competition from local community and the board of judges. The next one will receive the title, as well as prizes. It’s a well-developed premise that promotes longevity and new users flock to the platform for a first place.
