It is nice to see films likeEastward andChicory – A Colorful Tale make the list because they are focused on a slower and more thoughtful experience. These are some of my favorite games, and now I remember a time where like this was not possible or worse thought of as a lesser experience, because it couldn’t get into the more combat-focused origins of early video games. The Forgotten Citys nomination has been notable due to its past status as a famousSkyrim mod before branching into a fully realized project. It really shows that, with a proper idea and some hard work, almost anyone can make well-deserved success in video games. Hell, games like Dota 2, orGarrysMod all got its start this way, so it’s cool to see another underdog such as The Forgotten City getting beaten up in the category. Here are the nominees for the Best PC Game of 2021 from Destructoids.
