Besides, Patch 6.01 (Pandaemonium) is set to be released on December 21 and Patch 6.05 (Pandaemonium), new Allagan Tomestones, and new gear (Pandaemonium) is scheduled for January 4, 2022. Here’s a message from Final Fantasy XIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida on the delay: The axis of the schedule change are the reasoning behind the modification. I was selfish as the director of the game. Since I was in charge of the original Final Fantasy XIV, I continued to develop and execute Final Fantasy XIV for the past 11 years, and always endeavour to balance my position as the producer overseeing the project and the director overseeing development. As soon as we arrived, I would try to get that done. In interviews and in live streams, Endwalker will become the largest expansion pack in Final Fantasy. It was a massive undertaking, but we proceeded to develop following plans that would allow us to get ready, but before the date of the release, it would be easier for us, right? As we enter Final Fantasy XIV, we will end development and we will complete everything from quests to battle content. Although I couldn’t stop trying to further improve Endwalkers quality, this expansion pack is the first major culmination of events in Final Fantasy XIV. Even if we look beyond Endwalker, the final Fantasy XIV story will stay for a long time and we expect to deliver many more enjoyable experiences in the game. But it was precisely because Endwalker concludes the first major saga that I felt our team need to work up the limits I envisioned. As a result, we remained firmly informed to adjust the smallest nuances to ensure that our writing covers the highest point of the vast and complex story that has spanned over 11 years since the original Final Fantasy XIV, to ensure that everybody can truly enjoy the adventure in Endwalker. Unfortunately, in consequence of this, we ended up in a situation where, because of this time spent on improvements, we cut back on the final quality assurance checks. At this rate, there was a greater risk of reaching the deadline of release, without ensuring stability as a standard. However, I decided to postpone the release. As we anticipate large volumes of traffic congestion across all games, I felt that even in this respect it wouldn’t be right for us to release the expansion without adequate stability. I’m truly sorry. When I look at my profession, I have never postponed a release date previously announced (although I did once shift a release from Spring to early Summer), and, when I also considered many players had already made arrangements such as taking days off work in preparation for the original release date, I was completely torn between a choice for what sort of release or whether we should cut down the volume of expansion pack or so release content in installments or whether we should not. As such, I am so grateful to you for the decision I have made. Final remarks and looking to the future. Although we have moved to two weeks of release date, I think that we can actually depict Endwalkers story by ourselves because we spent the whole journey developing and operating Final Fantasy XIV with the players. While we will need a little longer until the expansion packs release, please rest assured that we continue to invest all of our strength in development and operations so that we can play an immersive adventure with our players. Since I’m a single, we’re sorry for the inconvenience caused to our players and our colleagues because of my own shortcomings. I sincerely apologize for the decision. We continue to do our best to bring you the best experience, but also through new updates, every step while also restoring the trust.
