Supercells Expansion Plan.
They started with Clash of Clans, and now have a whole cell gaming universe including Clash Royal, Hay Day, Boom Beach and Brawl Stars. Logically, the next step in Supercell is to expand to other platforms like consoles and PC. That’s exactly what they plan to do! A month earlier, Supercell announced that it plans to open a second studio in the United States. They stated that the expansion will focus on something fans have not seen from Supercell yet. They refer to cross-platform games here, but they only have cell properties to their name. We are building this new team to accomplish a specific goal: build and enable the best of North America to create what’s in the future in no place; but in no mobile. We want to build a high-tech game that players don’t expect from Supercell, said Ryan Wener, NA GM.
What’s this for Clans?
The Finnish video game developer seems to be in full swing to introduce cross-platform gaming. Their recruitment role is very detailed and stated clearly their vision and expectations. Although the post focuses on introducing new IPs and games which would be un-supercell-like, there is room for more. Cross platform introduction would open the door to the existing games opening up with the console and PC players. Clash of Clans is their best-known game: OG, and popular, therefore making it a cross-platform experience would be amazing. Many players want it since a long time ago and many are used to playing CoC on the PC with like Bluestacks. So it’s already an issue and other than that it could cap a whole new set of gamers. Many gamers are playing on computers and consoles, so Supercell can target them with cross-platform release, too. With respect to the existing mobile player, it would be a move that would receive a warm welcome. A confirmation of this isn’t confirmed but after nine years, it seems likely that it’ll arrive later than ever!
